Elephant Sanctuary Tour

Experience an unforgettable encounter with the magnificent semi-wild elephants at the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary.

The journey to the sanctuary takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Your first stop will be the Aborigine Settlement. The Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre, established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, serves as the base for Malaysia’s only Elephant Relocation Team. This team has been dedicated to translocating problem elephants since 1974, moving them from areas where their habitats are threatened by plantations to safer environments such as Taman Negara. Over the past 25 years, the centre has successfully relocated more than 300 wild elephants, playing a crucial role in conserving the elephant population.
