Tour Overview:
Embark on a journey to Kuala Selangor, home to one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. Your adventure begins with a visit to Kota Melawati, a historic hill that once housed the 18th-century Fort Altingsburg. From the top, enjoy breathtaking views of the Selangor coastline, and on clear days, catch a glimpse of the Straits of Malacca.

While exploring Melawati Hill, you’ll encounter the friendly silver-leaf monkeys and long-tailed macaques that inhabit the area. The tour then takes you to the serene village of Kampung Kuantan, where the highlight of the evening awaits. As night falls, board a boat and glide upstream into the peaceful darkness. Here, you’ll witness the mesmerizing display of thousands of fireflies lighting up the mangrove trees, creating a scene reminiscent of twinkling Christmas lights. The synchronized, rhythmic flashes are a sight to behold, making this an unforgettable experience guided by skilled local oarsmen.
